Where temporary trackways are installed over hard surfaces such as paving or macadam, it is important to protect these surfaces from marking by the cleats and connectors on the underside of the trackway mats. BaseTrack underlay mats are ideal for this. They are made from a very dense and durable 20mm thick EVA microcellular foam, which provides both cushioning and protection for the surface beneath. These mats weigh just 8kg so are easily installed by just one person. One word of caution when installing trackways over paved or sensitive areas – it is important to be aware of what load the surface was originally engineered to carry. Further Information BaseTrack mats are for use under GroundGuards’ mat systems when they are used on a hard surface, and where it is necessary to guard against surface marking. As such, they do not have a recommended weight loading of their own, as this is governed by the strength of the surface they are working on, and the mat system laid on top of them.
